We are a family of seven (almost 8), making our way in this crazy world together - for such a time as this.
Stan left the corporate world last year to start his own consulting company, which recently led to him becoming a partner in a large health care consulting firm. He is loving his flexible hours and casual attire - and after a bit of adjustment, we are loving having him home. He leads our family with a quiet strength. He is confident and secure and never makes a rash decision. However, when he makes a decision, he is ready to move on it and to take responsibility for the consequences, be they good or bad. He loves Jesus with all his heart and he loves his family. We are blessed to have him at the helm of this ship!
I (Shelby) am a stay at home mom to these five precious ones that God has blessed us with. My greatest desire is to ooze the love of Jesus in such a way that my family is impacted by that love. I have a long way to go. I want my children to walk in Truth, to follow hard after Jesus wherever He leads them. God has placed in my heart a desire to advocate for orphans. I am broken for the 147 million children who go to bed at night without a mommy and daddy. They haunt my dreams. My other interests include home schooling, naturopathic healing, and organic/whole food.
Joshua is 21 years old. He will be a Senior at a local Christian University in the fall. He has blown us all away with how much he has loved campus life these past couple of years. He has made the President's List each semester, is a member of the Honors College, has lots of close friends, and recently went to Europe for the first time. He is the strong, silent type - a deep thinker. He is a Business major and plans to stay on and pursue an MBA after graduation.
Bryce is also 21. She loves photography, reading, and writing. She will graduate from college in May 2016 with a degree in English Literature. She has also loved college life and has a perfect GPA, but this graduation, the huge dream in her heart pales in comparison to her academic life. My baby girl got engaged on July 3rd to the man of her dreams! He proposed to her on a rooftop in NYC, one year after they met! We are so excited for Bryce and for our future son in law, Jacob, and can not wait to see where God leads them as they serve Him together.
Lyndsey is 17. She is our tenderhearted social butterfly. Always ready for a day at the mall with her friends. Her interests include singing, photography, and volunteering her time working with precious children with special needs! She will be a Senior this year and her plan is to pursue a degree is Special Education. She is the "baby whisperer" and treasures with special needs are her passion. I can't wait to see what God is going to do.
Graham is 13. He is all boy - liking nothing better than a day in the woods. Climbing trees, air soft guns and fireworks, shooting hoops with Dad and riding his bike and scooter. He can't be bothered with too much book work, but he does enjoy a good science experiment. The more it explodes, the better!
Patrick is 5. Lately he is into any and everything. He loves books, MineCraft, painting, swimming, playing outside and chocolate milk. He is a happy boy, chattering his way through the day as he tries to keep up with his brothers and sisters. His most recent news is that he is going to be a BIG brother! He is SO so SO excited!
That's us. Just a family. Thankful for His grace and mercies that are new every morning!
Thanks for reading - my prayer for you is that God would use something you read here to encourage you in your walk with Him.
