Merry Christmas!

"And the Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us."

Along with the new face on my blog, I just want to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas season. Around here we are busy reading our Christmas favorites, baking goodies for friends and neighbors - and eating a lot of them ourselves, picking up fallen Christmas trees (yes, I decorated early and thought I was on the ball and then my tree fell over), and shopping for good deals.....but, most importantly, we are focusing on the true reason for the season. God in the flesh, dwelling among fallen man, redeeming a people unto Himself. It is incomprehensible that He loved us enough to send His Son to be born in a cave on the outskirts of Bethlehem, born among animals and wrapped in rags.

"For unto is born this day in the city of David, a Savior, which is Christ the Lord. And you shall find the babe, wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn."

This little baby was born to die. Condemned to die the death of a criminal on a cross, He willingly took on the sin of all of mankind in order to shed His sinless blood that we might live. My prayer for all of you this season is that you know the true meaning of the holiday, and that you dwell in the peace that comes, not from the things that this world has to offer, but the peace that can only come from an intimate relationship with Jesus, the true Prince of Peace.

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,Eternal Father, Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6
