Graham-isms

Whenever you see a post with this title, don't expect anything too profound. My 8 year old son is hysterical. He says and does so many hilarious things on a daily basis that he keeps us in stitches. He also says and does things on a daily basis that reduce me to tears (the real kind, not the laugh til you cry kind). He is just that way - extreme! Since so many people tell me I should write a book about his antics, and since I do NOT have time to write books, I am going to try and record his activities here and maybe one day I will get around to the book. I'm just going to write them much like I do my Facebook statuses, so as I said....nothing profound, just a Mama with a bad memory keeping track!

1/28/11 We were staying overnight at a nearby resort hotel where hubby had a business meeting. Our room was on the 10th floor. I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth and I heard Graham yell (as the balcony door shuts behind him), "I'm taking the baby outside!" Ahhhhh! I almost broke my neck getting out of the bathroom and across the room. He was sitting in a chair holding P, far away from the edge. He looks at my frantic face and sincerely wonders why I cared.

1/31/11 We went out for a walk today, Graham on his bike, me pushing P in the stroller. Graham rides his bike much like he walks - all over the place. He swerves his handlebars back and forth, he rides barefooted with his pants legs constantly tangled up in the pedals and thus he falls off of his bike quite frequently. At one point he looks at me, completely seriously and says, "Can we get a bike seat for Patrick and put it on my bike?" Yeah, sure honey.

1/31/11 Graham was playing with P. Throwing a ball to him, which P just learned to kind of lob back. They were both laughing. Suddenly, out of the blue Graham says (loudly), "Patrick, you're adopted!" Patrick laughs out loud when you yell at him (not sure what this means), so he giggled. Graham looked at me, with an accomplished look on his face and asks, "Do we have to tell him again, Mom?"

These next ones I copied straight from my past Facebook statuses.

1/15/11 We are leaving town at 4:00 am, so he takes his shower, puts on all his clothes, including coat and shoes and insists he is staying up all night because if he doesn't we might forget him and leave him Home Alone! He is totally serious - and still WIDE awake at midnight!

12/3/10 So Graham decided to start a fire on the lanai this morning, he was cold (so he said). Problem is, he started it on a piece of cardboard that Stan and my bro in law put under the turkey fryer on Thanksgiving.. so it had drops of oil all over it...you can see where this is going...only Graham. I think he is trying to kill me, slowly and painfully.

11/3/10 Just read a stack of books to Graham, snuggled up on the couch. In case you don't know Graham - this is really amazing! I loved it!!

That's it for now. Have a good laugh - on us!
