Baby smiles!
Wow, these precious faces are a poignant reminder of the handiwork of God. A reminder that our God is bigger than all of the horrific circumstances of our world. He continues to create these precious blessings, maybe in part to remind us that life is beautiful and fragile. Full of hope and wild excitement. Life seen through the eyes of a baby is amazing in every detail. The dog strolling nonchalantly by elicits belly laughter.
Eyes that light up at the sight of you entering the room after nap time - whether or not your hair is combed or your make up on. Unconditional love and delight. Maybe God wants to remind us that we are loved unconditionally by Him - the Creator of the Universe.
Maybe he wants us to love each other.
These two sets of eyes belong to my son and my nephew. Three weeks apart in age and sure to be best buddies in another year or two. They are a reminder in our family of a big, big God. A God that delights in giving us the desires of our heart - even when we are ready to give up.
Enjoy these baby smiles and remember that you too are unconditionally loved by Him.
