I love this guy!

I just have to say a quick bit about my husband. Yesterday, Stan and a friend of his were the speakers at a Kingdom Mobilization luncheon. Kingdom Mobilization is an organization that was formed to help people discover their God-given gifts and talents and then "mobilize" them to do Kingdom work. The group is comprised mostly of business men (and some women) in the community who currently have, or have had, successful careers and now they have come to a point in their spiritual walk where they are asking, "Is this really what it's all about?" Is the money, the prestige, the climb up the ladder - is that the end goal, or could it be that God has blessed me with these things in order to be able to give my time and talent to Kingdom work? The room was full of men and women from ages 25 to 80 and the energy was palpable. These are high energy people, on mission with God! I can't begin to express the feelings that welled up inside of me when Stan began to speak. As he shared the journey he has been on with God for the past few years I began to relieve it all in my mind. To think that we came from the marriage that I have been sharing with you the past few posts, to today, with him totally trusting God to tell him the next move for our family is nothing short of miraculous. God, through Jesus Christ, has done an unbelievable work in both Stan and myself. Stan pinpointed his short term mission trip to Brasil with Todd Milby and a few others as the spiritual turning point in his life. I think that is totally accurate. He came home from that trip completely changed and I have not seen him waver. He has diligently searched for God's will since the day he came home. Seeing children who live in such extreme poverty that those of us in America can not even fathom, yet still praising God was an experience that completely humbled him and put all of our petty problems in a completely different light. We were created for fellowship, first with God, then with fellow believers, and finally as the hands and feet of Jesus to a lost a dying world that cries for a Savior. There is only one Church and that is the Body of Christ - all over our community and the world. We have a responsibility to other people, we can not live unto ourselves. I think this is the biggest thing that Stan is learning right now and the way he is leading our family is absolutely amazing. We are so excited and eager to see what the Lord will do next!
