Mother's Day

I just want to say Happy Mother's Day to all the moms who read my blog. Some of you I know personally, some I don't. All of you are vital in God's plan for raising up soldiers for His army. As you go about your daily lives, doing things that may seem unimportant, remember that the dirty diapers, the dirty dishes, the dirty laundry (lots of "dirt" in our lives, huh?) hold eternal value in the eyes of God. He sees every dirty little job you do, even if it appears that no one else notices - and He remembers.

I am also blessed with a Mom and a Mother in Law who invest in my life daily. Both who I know I can call on and they will be there for me. Both who love my children. I love you both so much.

Yesterday as my sweet husband made breakfast for me and we went to church and then out to lunch I could not stop thinking about another Mom. One that probably got no recognition on the day for her title. I prayed that God's peace would cover her yesterday and that she would receive blessings that only He could get the credit for. I thought about the afternoon we spent together almost exactly a year ago. The day that she talked and talked about this baby boy that she had carried so close to her heart for nine months. The baby that she knew she could not raise. She loved him enough to let him go. She loved him enough to choose life. For that I will be eternally grateful.

"S," wherever you are today please know that we value you. We love you and we pray for you every single day. Even though I feel like I have loved P his whole life, in fact there were nine months and a week when another held him closer. I will teach him, this baby boy that you carried and gave birth to, to cherish you and pray for you. I promise we will teach him that love is selfless, and that your sacrifice was about what was best for him, even though it hurt you deeply. Wherever you are today, know that he is happy, content, and secure. That he is loved more than life by the other six members of his family and that we are pointing him to Jesus. We pray that you will find the Savior as well and we are eagerly awaiting the day He calls you into a relationship with Himself. His plans are always good and we know He has plans for you.
